Waste Management Services

Setting the standard - meeting the demand

Newpark as set the standard in waste management services for Canada's oil and gas sector. With our superior technical expertise, ability to react quickly and intelligently to any situation, Newpark is at the top of the field.

We've handled over 40,000 disposals to date and have an outstanding safety record. In fact, we received Work Safe Alberta's Best Safety Performer Award (an honor given to only 350 companies out of 128,000) for 2004 and 2005.

And, unlike many other waste management service companies, Newpark is truly a nation-wide company. We've seen, experienced and worked with it all, from the Prairies to the East Coast, from the Arctic to the Gulf Coast, and we bring that wealth of experience to every job we undertake.

Whatever your waste management need, count on Newpark for prompt, efficient, cost-effective solutions.

Landspray While Drilling (LWD)

The most popular method of disposal, LWD faces challenges in new mud systems, regulation change, horizontal wells, increased well density and increased public scrutiny. Newpark will ensure you stay compliant and maintain a positive reputation in the community. We are quick to identify any needed change in disposal method and can switch from LWD to another disposal option on the fly. We lead the industry in landowner relations because we operate on a basis of trust, open communication and immediate feedback, so there are no surprises for our clients or landowners.

We offer:

     ·  local expertise in all active drilling areas
     ·  operations and reports that stand up to regulatory examination
     ·  excellence and professionalism in landowner relations.

Over many years, we have built and maintain an effective, positive working relationship with the Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) as well as all federal and provincial environmental regulators.

We pride ourselves on quality documentation and report archiving to ensure your reports are available whenever you need them. And Newpark customizes billing and reporting processes to match your existing systems - it's seamless, transparent and painless.

Sump Treatments and Disposals

Newpark draws on a 14-year knowledge pool and thousands of sump samplings and treatments - we've literally seen it all and can provide you with accurate waste characterization and a range of disposal options to suit your need.

Qualified technicians perform field level analysis to reduce overall cost and time. When necessary we utilize a variety of accredited laboratories for quicker turnaround time on results.

We use our 750 square foot in-house laboratory for your treatment workup, and determine the fastest, most economical sump treatment available. As an added measure of assurance, all lab recommendations are double checked with "tailgate tests" in real-life, on-lease conditions before recommendations are implemented.

Newpark can handle the most difficult sump disposals - the kind other companies can't. We offer a variety of waste management options to help eliminate the difficult sumps before they turn into costly liabilities.

Facility Disposals

Newpark is always a third party when it comes to facility disposals and trucking. We do not own landfill sites or trucking services, so we're not biased when it comes to choosing either for you. We fully scrutinize facilities for cost effectiveness and compliance and will choose the one best suited to your needs.

We provide accurate sampling and waste characterization to help select the most appropriate disposal site:

     ·  Class I/Class II landfill
     ·  downhole injection
     ·  caverns
     ·  recycling

We work "24-7", so we're available when you need us, every time you need us.

Our project management approach minimizes turnaround times.

We have an outstanding safety record and are recipients of Work Safe Alberta's Best Safety Performer Award for 2004 and 2005.

Stabilization

Newpark provides innovative solutions to the problems of stabilizing and disposing of drilled cuttings.

Our primary goals on every site are:w waste minimization and oil recovery. Both mean you save money.

We provide all the necessary equipment for on-site waste management, including:

     ·  containment tanks and bins
     ·  excavators and mixers
     ·  absorbent material: NewZorbTM, sawdust, hogfuel.

No hidden costs. Newpark provides an exact cost breakdown for every job, including all equipment, trucking and tipping costs, so you know exactly what you are paying for.

Newpark can provide A-to-Z service where we contain the oily waste in our tanks using our equipment, recycle the oil, stabilize the remaining cuttings and haul them away. No fuss, no dealing with multiple suppliers, no hidden costs.

Our professional, experienced team can evaluate solids control equipment and provide solutions that work.

Arctic

Newpark has been active in the Arctic since 2001 where few environmental companies operate and fewer have experience in Arctic drilling waste disposal.

Our services include:

     ·  permafrost engineering expertise
     ·  permafrost sump design and monitoring
     ·  thermister supply and installation
     ·  data logging (extreme weather proof equipment)
     ·  waste minimization and recycling for Arctic conditions

We recognize that the people of the Arctic have a strong and personal interest in the development of their resources. Newpark consults regularly with all levels of Government and indigenous people to ensure all stakeholders stay informed and have the opportunity to participate. This investment of time and resources has helped Newpark stay in the front of the issues and be one of the most successful companies working in Canada's North.

For Solutions That Work

At Newpark Environmental Services, our focus is on innovative ideas and sustainable solutions for the oil and gas industry. Our commitment to R&D and the discovery of breakthrough technologies, plus our leadership role in landowner relations, will help the industry better manage waste management issues as they arise.
